A number of our clients have been contacted by a certain company from the UK guaranteeing Number 1 placement on the Google search engine. This is what Google has to say about companies like this:
Beware of SEOs that claim to guarantee rankings, allege a “special relationship” with Google, or advertise a “priority submit” to Google. There is no priority submit for Google. In fact, the only way to submit a site to Google directly is through our Add URL page or through the Google Sitemaps (Beta) program, and you can do this yourself at no cost whatsoever.  Â

Of course it depends on the competitiveness of the word or phrase, but if you worked away with software like SEO Elite for months, you’d end up with the desired position. LSI may still cause you grief, I note, requiring a whole bunch of synonyms and semi-related words. But an SEO firm would have to charge you ‘the moon.’
