I am also a \/\/aver of a few days standing. It seems to me to be a framework on which many powerful things will hang. I don't think it will replace Facebook as such but once it has the potential to pull feeds and interactivity in from all sides it will be a brilliant timesaver. I know I am keeping my eye on the Wave to email bridging plug ins with great interest just waiting for them to come out of 'in progress'.

Now that I am in the \/\/ave for a couple of days, I would say no. No arguments here, just a couple of questions?
* Did the Web kill Email?
* Did Web based forums kill the Usenet with its newsgroups based on email transport? Google inhaled most of the usenet in its Google groups, but the usenet is still alive?
* Wave right now reminds me a lot on the usenet. Now its going to be multimedia, rich content, and much, much more.

The road is still rocky.

Maybe some company will take advantage of the Wave architecture and build a platform that will rise to similar popularity than Facebook.

Yours
John

let's wait and see then. Google Wave hasn’t implemented all key features and isn’t ready for “prime time”, because bugs are still likely.
